Archos Helmet Camcorder and The Big Game
You are excited to learn that your freshman daughter has made the varsity basketball team. You decide that you are going to video tape every game so you can re-live this joyful time over and over again for years to come. You dig out the video camera, charge the battery, re-pack the video camera and head off to her first game. Once at the game, you get your video camera put together and start taping. You diligently follow your daughter and her team up and down the court making sure every second of the game is recorded to be cherished forever. The game is over and you hurry home to get everything set up to watch your new family video together with your daughter. You have an incredible feeling of pride overflow you while you prepare for this big moment. Your daughter arrives home, and you can’t wait to show her how well she did. You’re all anxiously sitting on the edge of your seats waiting to start discussing each play, basket and foul; but what’s this? This isn’t the game that I just taped! Where is my daughter? Where is the basket? Who is that? Why does this picture look like it was taped by someone having a seizure? The list of what’s, who’s and why’s will now be the focus of your “life-long memory” tape from now on. We all want to save those precious moments, but let’s face it. Unless we have a camcorder taped to our head, we will always have videos that have much to be desired. Wait, did I say camcorder taped to our head? I did! What a concept! If we had a camcorder on our head, it would record everything that we looked at, and it probably would be a smooth picture; not spastic. This exactly what the Archos Helmet Camcorder does. We have one that we use with our Archos player, and it works like a dream. I used the example of the freshman daughter and basketball because this is a true story for our family. Our daughter made the varsity basketball team this year as a freshman, and we tried recording her games with our home video recorder. It was a mess. It was shaky and very hard to track with. We were trying to watch the game threw this little tiny screen and capture every moment. It was IMPOSSIBLE! We were so excited to share this with our daughter when she got home, only to find a horrible picture that made me nauseous to watch. We were so disappointed! For the next game, my husband decided to use his Archos Helmet Camcorder. It is a little camcorder that connects to his Archos Media Player and hooks on a little belt that you can wear on your head. My husband always wears baseball caps, so he just slid it right over his cap and bingo. It worked great! Everything that he looked at got recorded, and I mean everything. The picture was clear and smooth, no shaking or bobbling. As an added plus, he actually got to see the entire game while recording it instead of trying to watch it through a tiny window looking up and down, moving the a camera back and forth in attempts to capture a good picture. The only thing that slightly bothers me about the Archos Helmet Camcorder, is that there isn’t a zoom feature. This would be nice, but overall, we have been very happy with this product. I give the Archos Helmet Camcorder two thumbs up.
